A Challenge: To You My Brothers (and Sisters) In Christ.
God not only promises to give his covenant people the desires of their hearts, he promises to bless their offspring with everlasting life. But we must first believe God before his promise is ours. If we truly love our children and want assurance that God will save them, we must believe God - we must devote ourselves to raising our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord - to the best of our ability - depending and trusting in God alone! For God desires to give us the desires of our heart. Glory be to God!
My challenge to you is to read and contemplate the following samples of what our forefathers believed. I trust that God will show you, as he did me, that the Reformed doctrines of infant baptism and covenant succession are not only historical but Biblical to the core. Now, "receive the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things [are] so." (Acts 17:11)
1) Infant Baptism (Doctrine 101) - Patch Blakey
2) An Argument for Infant Baptism, by Dr. John Calvin, (1509 – 1564)
3) A Defense of Infant Baptism, by Dr. John Wallis, Originally published in 1697
4) Difficulties About Baptism, by Dr. Douglas Bannerman, Originally published in 1898
5) Jeremiah 31: Infant Baptism in the New Covenant, by Dr. Richard Pratt, January 2002
6) Seven Biblical Principles that Call for Infant Baptism, By Dr. Phillip G. Kayser, 2010

Dear Father in heaven, open the eyes of your covenant people - teach us your truth that we may walk in your ways. We pray this in the powerful name of your faithful Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
